Kozarian

Nestled between Nartiv Woods and Silverhead Lake, the normally bustling town of Ishmarria could be heard alive with the sound of activity. Traders came from the ends of the globe just to sample some of the finer products that could be found native to the little hamlet. Even though the town was far away from any militia, no thieves dared attack the village, scared off by stories of the protections that surrounded the area. But all of that changed three months ago.

That was the day “it” appeared on the edge of the lake. Created by unknown means, the black citadel loomed over Ishmarria, blocking out the sunlight with its sheer size. At first, many people investigated the large structure, intrigued by its sudden appearance, but when they did not return, then those that searched for those that disappeared also did not return, panic struck the people. They left quickly, taking whatever supplies they could carry, fleeing the town like rats deserting a sinking ship. Only a handful of stout-worthy people stayed, not being intimidated by mere story.

The mayor dispatched riders, to spread the word of wealth beyond one’s imagination to anyone that could discover what was behind the mysterious appearance of the “Kozarian” as it had become to be known by the locals. But tales spread faster than any horse could travel, keeping aid away from the town, except for the foolhardy.
